Increased box elder bugs this year?

    These things are extra numerous this year. Every time I buying in more splits inside, there's more of them. Not like hundreds of anything crazy like that but 5-10 at a time we see.
    My wife has trained Hayden into bopping them to death. It's pretty funny actually. He acts like a fox pouncing and swatting them.

    Has anyone else noticed extra BE bugs this year? I've never seen so many continually appearing inside.

    Not here. We did have plenty of stink bugs and the Spotted Lantern Fly started showing up where I work but hardly any box elders around.

    They seem to come and go...we had a big crop of them about 3-4 years ago, not so much since. I burn lots of BE too.

    They are hiding on the ash splits mostly, because ash is mostly what I'll be burning this year.

    I wonder how many BTUs per BE bug? Everyone that birthday has BTUs.
