I was turned onto a product by a tree service guy that helps with that. Mudslinger from Amsoil. If you keep it on your saw from clean the stuff doesn't stick to it very easily. Plus it cleans a saw up really nice after the normal cleaning. The stuff is designed to spray on dirt bike, ATVs ect. to keep mud from sticking to them.
Never thought of that on saws. Why not? An airhose and a blow gun are standard procedure here. When done they get a blowjob before going back on the shelf. Only takes a minute but worth every second.
Reminds me of a product years back id spray on the tile in the shower after i was done. Prevented soap scum and hard water build up. I seldom cut sappy softwood and its seems the worst in the hot weather.
This is the last of the 4. The donor with the good handle. Came with no clutch, sprocket, muffler and was.....filthy. Has some slight scoring on the piston, a bit of carbon on top of the piston, and some aluminum transfer on the cylinder walks on the exhaust side. Will need a lot of parts to get this back to life.
