31 here and that looks like the low for overnight. And I’m okay with that. Just loaded the Wood Gun for the night because it was running. Ash, Elm, and one split of Spruce. Should be good until 8AM at these temperatures.
We were up to 71* today. Headed to 25* tonight. High of 45* tomorrow. No fire now but I see one in my near future. Red oak and hickory on standby. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
0/85 suppose to warm up tomorrow afternoon to the high 20's. Only burnt a little over a cord and a half since season started. Still getting lots of scraps from framing at work.
Falling temps supposed to be the rule today along with wind and a little rain and snow. Wind 20-30 now so will no doubt get pretty strong later.
17 with wind and snow. Yesterdays snow was the heavy moisture laden wet sticky heart attack variety. The is ice underneath the snow so plowing is not going to be a good time trying to move the new stuff around. Not sure how much yet but guessing probably a foot.
45/72. Same combo, pine/ oak Rain today and windy. Calling for 40+ mph gusts. Think I'll stay out of the woods this evening.
Cold front moved through yesterday. 15f this morning with a couple of big locust chunks in the stove.
Currently 47 and rain. High winds to follow this storm. Burning chestnut oak low and slow. Probably let it go out today as it's supposed to hit 55.
No degrees here this morning. Zero outside with a mixed pile of elm, hackberry and birch by the stove.
It became cloudy last night and started snowing so that helped keep our temps from getting to cold. Our temps held steady at around -14c,-16c/5f all night. Its snowing heavily now. We received about 3 inches of the light stuff last night with another 4-8 inches expected today. Doug fir in the box.
16/68. Just waiting for a coal nuking to finish up. Looks like Ash and Elm up next. Twas a cold windy day. Stay warm all.
31/69. Nice calm day. Had a top 25’ off 50’ oak blow down yesterday so I’ll spend tomorrow trimming, bucking and splitting. 2026-27 hoarding has started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
High 20’s when i loaded the boiler with beech and maple. Some recent splits mixed with very dry two years old maple and walnut. Cleaning ut the center part of the woodshed that had uglies and limbs pitched in between stacks. Making way for all splits as i clear up the tree tops.
