Our friend that gave us all the hickory, ash and oak logs last year from his site clearing business and some small oaks he was thinning at his place the first of this year...called a month ago. Said he was thinning more of the oak head. He was leaving yesterday morning for a 2 week job in South GA to refurbish some tennis courts, he does this as well. Blake, who runs the site clearing part while Tony is gone, was there to load us.
    The beginning pile... 1128221013_HDR.jpg
Sorting it out. Blake is GOOD with this machine 1128221207.jpg
1st load dumped near the shed it will go in... 1128221404.jpg
Should have put a few more on the 1st load, as the 2nd load was really tall... 1128221239_HDR.jpg
And we had these left... 1128221238a.jpg
We will get them next time, as Tony said he had more he was thinning out.

Yes sir, saved an extra trip to go back for the tractor. It takes about 30 minutes to get to his place from ours. He used to live about 3-4 miles from us, now it's about 25.

Thanks, Mike. These are nice handling size, only a couple seem to have soft centers, most should be 1 pass thru the big splitter

Wringing every dime out of that dump trailer I see LOL
Are those external stake pockets factory or fabbed on later? Just noticed them and my wheels are turning. Not a bad way to go.

They are factory, finally used them the other day. Made some temporary sides to haul a cord of oak we loaded with the conveyor from a shed. 1117221432.jpg

We have been blessed this year with some really nice logs.
Yes sir, we have plenty of inventory now. Mostly oak, a good bit of hickory and pecan, a little bit of ash, cherry and elm...all needs processing....

We started whittling away at the first load Tuesday morning... 1128221404.jpg
Bucked a pile of rounds, then fired up Blue Samson, he mowed thru some rounds, got this stacked by lunch 1201220841.jpg
We had these left to start on Thursday morning 1201220841_HDR.jpg
Got those split and stacked...Miz Carol and Charlie taking a break.. 29253.jpeg
We then bucked some more logs, maybe we can get those done soon. 1201221156_HDR.jpg
Only 4 whole logs left to buck from that load. Using the XS029 with semi-chisel chain on these dirty logs, had to swap to a new chain on the last log we bucked.

    We're trying...lol...
I don't use it often, only when I know the logs are very dirty.
