That's a fact. Many do not. Or rotate them on a 5000-6000 mile schedule. I check the pressure frequently as temperature swings effect it and I check the spare in all ours at tire rotation time or seasonal tires swap from winter tires to the all season and back.

Automakers put TPMS in vehicles after the Clinton administration made it mandatory.

And while handy, is also a major maintenance/repair headache after a while too!

Not cheap to replace every 7-10 years either. Batteries go dead and the elements / road salt makes replacement of said batteries almost impossible. Two of our cars have the sensors inside the wheels. The third one uses the abs / wheel speed sensors to "count" tire rotations and if one tire is outside the parameters it triggers a low tire warning. You have to then research which tire by looking at them. Like you should every time you get in it. The horror...

Sir, I am not trying to start an argument; my guess is your an old time farmer and you lived your life your way! BUT

    Followed by this

That is what the”truck” you describe above costs NOW; actually more than 80 grand. You are arguing against yourself

Unfortunately most are only concerned if they can swing the monthly. Driving a house payment that needs replacement every 5-10 years depending on how it's treated and where it resides.

The best truck is the one in your driveway.

they’ve gotten too big. My ‘19 ranger is essentially the f150 my old man drove in ‘96 size wise.

I had a w/t trim first gen Colorado for a few years. The features were ac and power steering. That really made me appreciate things.

Pretty easy to import a hilux if you can handle right hand drive. I’d be okay with RHD but shifting gears with my left hand would be weird. Nice 2.8 diesels too.

This guy with this Cadillac truck has his priorities in proper order. Grill is strapped on low to hopefully keep it safe. :p

Obviously not in the same universe as the Hilux, our Mail lady imported a right hand drive Jeep Cherokee from somewhere. Same square body and 4.0 6 cylinder. Identical to the US left hand drive except drive position.

If anyone thinks their used truck is increasing in value it isn’t, money is just worth less now……..

When I bought my F350 way back in 1997, loaded (it's a Lariat), it cost me 32 grand and that was too much. No vehicle is really worth more than about 3 grand. The only reason why they cost what they do today is inflation and legacy costs that automakers have to bear.

By the time you get one paid off, it's worthless anyway. Motor vehicles are possibly the worst investment you can ever make.

There's one running around town here with a 10 or 12 inch box tube stack also.
Kinda silly to cut a hole in the bed and try to be Billy Big-Rigger...

Better than The Carolina Squat, though!

The dog dragging its balloon knot on the carpet look. I so dislike that. I prefer level if lifted and for play not hauling. Otherwise there is reason trucks set taller in back.

Most definitely that as well but, we had our dealer, this year, hounding us to buy back our 2020 Ridgeline outright for $38,000 based on what they thought it should have for miles, which was 20,000 to 24,000 miles. It has 9,300 currently. We paid $36,000 out the door in fall of 2020. They were trying to put anything on the lot they could. Now that new trucks are rolling in again the emails stopped.

So do I actually. New trucks today all have the rear ends up in the air... I don't get that. I did switch my rear suspension to air bags however, that way, no matter what I have in the bed, I can level the truck.
