So it stacked out to 1-1/3 cords. It was(operative word was) my masterpiece, 16' long, 20"wide, and......6'+ in height this pile was straight, level and I even put a plumb bob on the ends.
I was putting the saws & cans away and coming back to get the camera, as I'm walking back to the house I hear a woosh of leaves being crushed come around the corner to this:

The left rear corner must have settled too much even though I dug it down a bit to level the bricks - it took the rest of the pile with it:mad:

I had great visions of posting a pic of the stacked product, the accomplishment of stacking it that high, even considered cutting some cedar poles to brace the back side (was going to do that tomorrow)
I'm 6'4 and it was over my head so less the cribbing I say 6' - damm I just wasted half a day, the beer tastes more better after working in this 93F heat though

Big hands help but with those log tongs I can carry a 24" round. My hands are not that big! Also for dragging them out, I did what you are doing for many, many moons. Finally got the log tongs and was simply amazed at how much easier it made the work.

Sorry for the :Yar:, but I wanted to chime in on the tongs again too :D.

I can handle 2 and 3-fer size trunks if I can lift one end and drag it with the tongs. Most of the time this is as easy as hoisting a single round by hand. I set one end in the trailer, and slide the rest on.

Once it's on the trailer I'm home free. Hardly broke a sweat turning into rounds back at the sawbuck.
