Shoulda worded it better. She saved the last butt pinned up on the corkboard calender. We visited her oldest dughter so Ms. buZZsaw and grand daughter threw away the last butt.

She has emphasyma and 1/3 of lung function Chronic COPD. The two grand daughters were her inspiration to quit.

I quit smoking at home years ago but continued to smoke at work. When I needed back surgery in 2004, I had to stay home for a number of weeks after surgery. I never went back to smoking and I feel great.

I guess I’ll chime in. I was the pack a day guy. One year at a work Christmas party they had a guy that did hypnosis for entertainment. It was a fairly small company and not many people were interested in being in in the show. I figure what the heck I’ll go up and potentially make a fool of myself. It was a very strange and enjoyable experience not everybody is willing to “let go”. I was completely under. Dancing to shenia Twain, blurting out when someone makes a particular motion, crazy stuff that I would never do normally. At the end he said he would help anybody that wanted to quit. I figured why not. It worked. Been 15 or more years.

I tried Chntix that’s come crazy chit! I had VIVID nightmares.

One thing I’ll add. It was 1 on 1 for the smoking part. I think those big group sessions are a scam.

Yup some REALLY weird dreams accompany it. I chewed not smoked but it worked the same. Took it for 3 months I think.

I smoked cigarettes, cigars, a pipe and chewed Copenhagen for almost 30 years. There is no easy way to quit, no silver bullet. It's going to suck no matter what you do. The one thought that finally got me through it [and I "quit" dozens of times] is that it wasn't getting any easier each time I "quit" so I might as well bite the bullet and quit once and for all. It eventually gets better. Have her try all the tricks but it comes down to what you want for the rest of your life. I wasn't afraid of dying of lung cancer but was terrified of living with emphysema. Good luck to her!

Do you have a short list of things TO do that you learned the easy way? I've got nothing , still learning the hard way.
