Oh yes I do remember, altogether too well:headbang: . Trying to forget the whole incident. Now have my back up geni and some power packs for my bipap machine. I hate ice storms, I hate ice storms, I hate ice storms........ Smokey knew he would get a rise out of me when he mentioned that storm. It was nearly a disaster for our Christmas plans. Lucky for us, our oldest daughter came to our rescue and had the gathering at her house.

Well, I pulled the trigger on another ton of Ligs @$225 a ton ($220 after my coupon). Had to get put on their list since they are currently waiting on a shipment. Price goes up on Monday to $240. Now I have to start buying a couple bags of different brands so I can do "reviews" on them.

I can see that for sure. It won't be like that all winter, I usually have 20 bags on the deck but I do still just bring home a few a day to keep the party rolling. I have a full size Bronco with a 4" lift and snow tires so getting in/out of the driveway..... won't ever be a problem. I live in a banana belt as it is so even though we get pretty cold, we don't ever really see 4' snow storms etc. and when we do it's VERY rare. I'll make it, but if I get snowed in I owe you a "you told me so" lmao

I've never worried about snow as my snow blower has handled 3' and drifts easily it is the ice storms we have been known to have that leave large areas out of it for several days at a time. You no go anywhere when they hit. Ask savemoney what they are like, all I can say is I'm glad that we are very close to a substation that has multiple separate inbound feeds and have a generator. We also have an AWD vehicle.

Well as of about 2 hours ago I am the very proud owner of a unbouncable 3 ton pile of my personal favorite pellets, born in a big old saw, mom and dad famous oak flooring, from Kentucky, ...........yup............... Somersets !!!! One ton put down and 2 more going to be tucked in tomorrow. I am so happy !!! Thought I was done with them due to the high cost of shipping, but I get to enjoy their lovely heat a least one more winter. Now gotta finish the addition and perhaps welcome in one more treat either a Quadrafire E2 or Harmone 35I to ignite my little buddies !!!

    Doggy

I brought home 2 tons so far this season. I had just under 1.5 tons left from last season. I need to bring home at least 1.5 more tons as I keep hearing reports about another cold winter coming up. I burned just under 4 tons last season and would like to have at least a one ton buffer in the stash.

I was reading an article today and the last time Grand Rapids, MI failed to hit 90 degrees at least once in the summer was 1951. That year GR received 2 feet of snow in the first 8 days of November and had 144 inches of snow downtown for the season. The warmest it's gotten here this year is 89, same as in 1951. I don't mind a lot of snow, but I don't like it starting before Thanksgiving.

The same scenario this year for Portland, Maine. I'm farther inland and north of Portland so I don't pay much attention to their weather but I know they haven't hit 90 this year either.

So far I've been hauling 3 tons of Cubex to go along a 1 ton of Comfort from last year. I also picked up 30 bags of Trebio. My remaining free ton of last year Haliburton's disappointment is been mixed with the 5 bags of McFeeters which I'm burning the past week or so. Getting more Cubex in a week or so. That's my present stash level:)
