Normally I only sell 10-12 cords a year. In the last 2 weeks I've sold 6. Now I have so little left that she can see the Nieghbors yard. She doesn't like that.
Not counting pine and the junk I use personally I have just over a cord total, and half of that isn't seasoned. It was a slow year until October hit. One of my most loyal customers moved out of state and another is too ill to feed the fire anymore. Between them that was a third of my sales. Now I'm about to have my best sales yr ever

Firewood demand around Nashville has been booming since July for me. Tripled my sales last month over last year's October. Fortunately I planned for a big increase since I thought high energy prices wood drive sales higher. My summer cutting in sweltering heat is paying big dividends. Love all the Benjamins, but miss seeing six feet high rows of oak and hickory covering 1.5 acres. Still cutting everyday I return from deliveries.

    Happy wife, happy life!

Most wives seem to complain about too much wood being stacked up, not too little.

My wife worries if she sees empty spaces in the sheds and none coming in.

    Time to get :tree: :saw:

Any source for dead, partly seasoned wood?

My bundles sales went up last month mostly for outdoor fires IMO. Mild enough to sit outside yet. I refused one half cord sale couple weeks ago. He bought from my CL ad couple years ago. I told him if he he heard from me i could accomodate. Have to make sure i have dry for customers a couple months from now. Id rather lose a sale and have extra wood at seasons end than not have dry wood for a regular customer if they need more (if that makes sense) One of my long time regulars (15 years) is moving out of state so i lost a customer too. Not concerned as i should have no problem replacing him.

Ms. buZZsaw complains about having nothing to complain about!

Higher oil and gas costs, and I can deliver almost immediately. Also all of the new customers said I'm the first to return calls.

All of my wood comes from tree services. So very little is dry. What does come in dry is usually rotted or infested

    Makes sense to me.

Save wood for repeat customers instead of selling it all.

We don't typically sell wood in large quantities. Maybe a truckload to friends or family on a rare occasion. We do sell bundles in a couple of locations. I've had at least half a dozen phone calls asking how much i sell wood for. No clue how they found my number, but they managed somehow. A few notes left in the mailbox and a few in the money box of the wood stand.

When I mention it to the wife she starts shaking her head no and says she doesn't want to sell any. She also says "its yours so do what you want". We all know what that really means. So i haven't sold any. I let my neighbor have truck full of 2 year stacked hedge and just told him we can settle up sometime. I told him him I'm always looking for places to cut and said he could help with that. I believe he has several hundred acres of property.

I started stacking where it is visible from the road. So I think people see that and think he has a bunch of wood and maybe he sells it cheap. Can never have to much and I sure ain't selling it cheap.
