The trays help with organizing things, I bought a smaller tray for the bottom space but it will hold a box of full size cigars or several boxes of cigarillos. I just lay my bag of beads in the bottom & rotate top 3 trays top to bottom one slot at a time about once a month.

The bottom tray I just rotate 180*

I read about those beads after you mentioned them the first time and they really do seem simple. I'm gona give them a shot.

I also like the different trays. I usually use my foot locker for "long term" and bulk storage and move things I smoke more frequent, to my little one.

I know I've mentioned it, but I always wanted one of those huge wooden cabinets that hold 1-2k cigars and load it up. Someday maybe.

If I had that guys money I'd have a cigar shop and lounge, inside a chainsaw dealership, just because I could.

Went ahead and ordered some hearfelt beads for my humidors. Got a half pound and the nylon bag for my foot locker and the 1080 ci tube for my small one. The color change when they need to be recharged, seems simple enough. Basically spent on one order less than I'd have spent for about 3 months worth of humidity control with the Boveda's.

I guess it's time to start filling up the foot locker again.

They claim those beads work for years. I bought a cheap little spray bottle to use to refresh mine.

The only distilled water I could find was in 1 gallon jugs, I usually go thru a pint or so when I recharge all of mine.

Nice grab! Now those are the auction prices I remember.

A that price, if you don't like them, you can hand them out, no?

I ordered them directly from their site and it said they will last "indefinitely". I like the fact that they change colors, so a guy knows when they need attention. I have little digital temp/hygrometer things in each one, but I like a visual as well.

The Boveda's would start getting hard when they were spent.

How often are you finding you have to recharge yours?

I got the email saying I had won & was trying to remember what I had bid on, I believe I left a $10 max on those so I didn’t think I had a snowballs chance in hell of getting them.

Send me your address & I will send you a couple.

Over the summer with the higher humidity my wooden humidors they lasted 2-3 months but I have refreshed them once a month the last two months. The humidity was still good but the outside beads were white, I imagine the inside beads were still holding humidity but since I had time I spritzed them again.
I have roughly 1/2# of beads in my wooden humidors.

My 48qt coolers are about 3months depending on how many times I fan/leave the lid open while digging around.

I have 1# of beads in 2 of my 48qt coolers & about 1/2# in the other one.

The Clevelanders are about the 3 month range.
    I have 1# socks in each Clevelander’s.

I have taken the foam/other beads out of humidifiers like these & refilled with Heartfelt beads.

I remember you mentioning that, now, about putting beads in the original humidifier case things. Might have to see if that's an option for me. They were on the lid in my foot locker. Which would keep things out of the way and maximize space for sure.

There are a couple of problems with lid mount:

Magnet strength; I have found the lid mounted humidifiers laying on top of my cigars because the magnet wasn’t strong English or the glue holding the magnets in place failed.

Excessive moisture : making sure that you have all of the excess moisture out of the humidifier so it doesn’t drip on your stogies.
