Nice! Beech is one of my favorites too; I never turn it down. There’s a lot there, some of those knotty sections may need to be noodled but it’s well worth the effort

About a mile up the road.

I’ll be cutting and sharing with the land owner

Higher btu's than oak. Dries in a year. Splits like ash for the most part.

Those are some big heavy rounds to be picking up. Hoping you noodle some to save the back.

Not for me but my dad got some once and I processed it for him. Definitely wish it was more prevalent, especially for them. The quick dry time is a major plus since he's the impatient type.

Good stuff right there. We dropped a standing dead beech a few weks back, I used it in the stove already as it was bone dry and it saved me from tapping into the big stash too early....lol

Last beech I was able to get looked like those big rounds. Would really like to score some like that again! But alas, I've been relegated to ash recently.

Been a long time since I had some beech firewood. The last ones I found dead standing were really soft/NFG.
I have an old one in the back yard that had nuts just once that I've seen in 50 years. It has never gotten all that big for whatever reason.
