I hope so if this body will let me. No snow here yet. We are usually the last to get it here. There is something about the Saginaw valley that causes this but I don't mind. I do expect we could get hit hard before too long. I have never seen it this dry at this time of year. I can just step across the creek and not even get boots damp and peoples ponds are at an all-time low too.
First first of the season in my VF100. I typically don’t start burning until the high temps are in the 40’s. Looks like temps will be favorable for burning for awhile now in the northern part of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Currently burning a mix of ash and sassafras. Currently 36F out and will clime to 44F this afternoon. Feels good to be back at it!
Chunks of white oak for me and mine this morning. Not sure what the temp was at 0500 when I loaded it, but it’s still 34 here. Not to exceed 39 according to AccuWeather
Kinda dreary and cloudy with a chance of snow, hanging around -12 C/10 F all day. Poplar chunks and stubbies heating the way.
It’s 6* with spruce keeping it warm. About 3cords I to this year’s heating season, June will be here before ya know it and all I will be left with is having to log a little and fish outta Valdez. Sure is nice to have Halibut, salmon and shrimp fishing to keep me out of trouble in the summer.
It was 37 before noon with no wind. I was walking around with just a flannel outside. Checking water deicers and changing oil in one of the family cars. Felt warm compared to the 24 with 15-20 mph wind the other day.
Just lit up with a split of chestnut oak, 3 rounds of maple and 1 split of walnut. Smorgasbord! 44/66.
Was 28f at 4:45. Stacked the boiler with oak and maple. Got to the cabin at noon. Looks to be decent weather for the opener. Burning propane here. Chimney still hasn't come in. Drove through some decent snow, but not much here. Just some light flurries. 28F at 7:00 pm.
30 degrees Fahrenheit here now with mostly Ash and a little Pine keeping inside temperatures cozy. Going down to 25 by 6am.
