Anyone have any experiene/ knowledge of "treestuff.com"? Looking at general results for their reviews shows a bit of a mixed bag.

They show the echo dcs 5000 package for $299, which is about $30-50 less than most other places. And flashed up a %15 off email sign up.

I quit buying from Treestuff when Sherrill took them over, their shipping, proper orders and customer service went to chit. I've used GAP Arborist Supply for all my needs ever since. Great people, great (and fast) shipping, top-notch customer service. And usually the most competitive prices as well, they may even do price matching. Not sure if they have exactly what you're looking for but worth a look, IMO.

Same as reviews, I've heard a mixed bag about them.

I’ve never had any issues with Treestuff. I used Sherrilltree exclusively until they were bought out. Sherrill is in Greensboro which is 30 minutes away. They used to have a showroom that was open to the public, so you could look at, touch, try on gear and get instruction. Met Toby Sherrill there. Treestuff sold some things cheaper and gave away free stuff with orders prior to the sherrill takeover. Now you just get stickers. Because Sherrill is close I get most things overnight. Treestuff takes about a week. Pretty sure free shipping over $99. Treestuff will have some things Sherrill doesn’t and vice versa. Occasionally they run specials on Sampson rope. Both will spam the crap out of you when you give them your # and email. Recently used the %15 discount from both to stock up on round and flat files. Sherrill has price match guarantee. Vermeer dealers will have Sherrill/Notch arborist gear in there showrooms. 30yr history with Sherrill and bought more from them when it was a father and son operation. The dad invented the big shot. I bought a Kask helmet and visor from Sherrill and it didn’t come with adapters. The visor adapters cost extra. I drove to there warehouse and they gave me the adapters for free. I think I ordered some traffic control signs once that never got delivered. For the most part I order from Sherrill, unless they don’t have what I’m looking for. Treestuff had 6” pferd flat files and Sherrill didn’t, but the 6” files are made in China. It was disappointing when Sherrill switched to mail order only. They had a cool store for tree men and sold Husqvarnas.
Neither place has given me a reason to look elsewhere.

Thanks for posting that sherrill site, I'll check them out too. They have the same discount on treestuff and show the echo in stock, so 15% off would make it a little over $250.

I've used them for rope and lanyards ect. They seemed ok, but I'm not sending anymore money to Commiefornia. Been a couple years at least since I ordered from them.

Treestuff ships from a midwestern state, but they are owned by the same company, which may be from California. I don’t know who bought Sherrill and than Treestuff.

I’m not telling anyone how to spend their hard earned US Ruples but me personally I like supporting a mom and pop business. Sherrill and by association treestuff are both owned by a large corporation. Toby sold out. I avoid unless I have no other choice. Gap arborist supply has always been good to me. Don’t sleep on Arbsession.com, Bartlett arborist supply, and wespur . They have all been top notch too.

I can't see where sherrill is out of, besides Greensboro NC. I checked those other sites, none of them have the echo. I would support a small business as well if I could find the saw there and the price was reasonable. As of right now, I see the saw available on treestuff (and sherrill) and home depot. Home depot looks to be an order as well, they don't show it being in stores around here. So either way, right now it looks like I'm giving my $ to a big company.

There's an outdoor power equipment store a county over. When i had to get a part for my weedeater last month, I saw that they had echo, but no battery saws. I may call them and see if they can get it and if so a quote.

Interesting. My last big order happened to be about 600 feet of rope. I remember it coming from California. I don't know what happened.

They may very well be tied to California, but I haven't found that yet. If anyone does please post it. I think I may have a HD gift card laying around somewhere... that may help decide for me if I can find it. Or get the saw cheaper, and use the HD card for more chains/supplies etc

I would say that would have been a possibility, but I remember they sent me some free effeminate safety glasses and bumper stickers with hearts on it. I don't think I'll ever forget that.:loco:
