I got to square up the log here after lunch/supper whatever it is and I'll get some runs and testing done.

It seems to be strong for small wood. I did swap to an 8 pin for this today. The chips hitting my leg were starting to sting. Might have to actually put on chaps for testing it.

I was gonna mention his chains. I bought a bar and chain combo from him a while back and was amazed at how it pulled itself through wood. I think it was a 32" combo on my masterminded 372

That was a decent file job. There's a lot more in the chain for softer wood than this 3 year old cherry. There may be more in the saw too but I think I'm going to leave it as is for now.

A good chain should feel like the wood is melting out from under it...
    Mike files some real dandy's...
I can't wait to put that 79er up against the 064 and 9010...

Chain is the most important part of a chainsaw setup. All the power in the world won't make it cut faster if the chain isn't sharp and set up well for the wood you're cutting.

Mike I have a 7900 round here that could use whatever you did to the one in the video. Wanna tell, or wanna do up the one I have?

I'll tell you how to do it. I want to see it run against other ones to see if it's worth doing or if you should use the stock piston. I have an idea how to make more compression and keep the exhaust where I want but I'm not set up yet to do it.

I figure we'll know shortly, if that recipe is worth writing down...
I do love the "less is more" approach for sure...
