Loaded the 14ft dump trailer with a load of premium oak splits for the guy who helped me build the pizza oven over the summer. He asked for a load of logs, we went the extra step to take him a nice load of splits down instead.
Had a load of oak he had just split. Driver in front of him put on right turn signal but ended up doing a U-Turn to the left right in front of him. He took the ditch to avoid him. Something we should all keep in mind (myself included) so thought I would share his misfortune. Driver will be okay but won't be doing any firewood or much of anything for a couple months.
I have a few pics to dump on here from my phone, nothing fancy and surely not pretty, but we got er done this year. Well, got it home at least.
Well that came out kinda crappy, This is 5 loads in 5 days from the same place, one of the load pics is mia. I hauled another one from the same place, 2 loads of reject fence posts for $100, and a marginal load of polar. When a non wood burner says nice and seasoned, stacked on a cut line, just say no lol. And yes, I had to drive through the city, so most loads were midnight express.
Recently turned this: into this: yes that’s the whole tree in there chips and all. Callery pear (aka Bradford pear) is a real mess to deal with this time of year. Well it’s a pain to deal with anytime of the year. Bad combination of heavy and brittle. Silver lining is the 26 mbtu firewood it will turn into!
Day off? Best thing i could think of to do on a day off is cut wood. Have fun, cut safe and post pics!
Can’t beat running ported saws. Yep, had no apts today so I took a personal day. Currently 55 w/ full sun. Perfect weather!!
Its going to get cold this weekend, rain is coming tomorrow. I like haveing some wood up at the house. She's ready to burn, 4 year old tulip poplar.
Nice job! My dad has a few he planted in 98’ and he started losing them over the last couple years. They don’t tolerate the wind very well. Didn’t realize they made decent firewoodI actually have half of one I need to get over there and chip that came down in the wind
Nice load of wood Jim. Lucky customer. Delivered a half cord myself. Maybe 1/3 of it was ash. Balance sugar maple.
