it was up to 73* yesterday afternoon and currently is 67* at 2:30 this morning. Pellet stoves obviously not running. And yes, I woke up at my natural time, which is now shortly before 2am instead of around 3 am :headbang:.

That should be a great start.....

We have one horse that has zero respect for the hot fence........We installed more hot tape and a "BULL KICKER" charger......YOU DO NOT WANT TO TOUCH THAT SUCKER......IT WILL LAY YOU DOWN.....

A pack of coyotes came through and one of the Ky pups hit the lowest tape....knocked him flat.....He crawled away making all manners of terrible noises......

A good hot fence should keep the bear at bay.........

Stove season is here in full force now....We have picked up close to 5" of rain since the 1st........
It was nice having the dry October to keep working on projects outside.....

    Snow possible mid next week....
    What a change....

2nd day here with the stove idle. :D

Crazy weather, But I'll take it. Getting more outside stuff squared before the real November decides to show up! Then maybe I'll put the sn*w chit up front in the shed.

Yesterday was really windy. Lost power around 7:30pm. Generator did it's job and gave us all the comforts needed.

Online said 3 days to restore service, it wasn't really cold out, so I turned the Generator off before bed at midnight, power came back on at 12:30am. Hopefully it stays on.

Stove is idle again today! Already 70ºF outside at 9 AM Humdity is 69% and sticky. Kitties are enjoying the catio early. Usually doesn't warm up enough out there until later in the afternoon!!

Hope to get the last round of leaf's done this afternoon. Bit of moisture needs to burn off from the rain showers we had yesterday. Should be able to start getting the sn*w chit ready and the shed reshuffle done. Then back to house upgrades. Ordering the insulation sometime this week as I got a 10% off Lowes coupon to burn. Showed up JIT as I usually get them after I make a big purchase!! :)

We got the chickens all squared and safer this weekend with the electric fence installed. Just need to replace their windows so the get some sunlight in the coop!!

The P43 started up a little while ago - first time in about 72 hours. The moon full and bright. Hope the clouds stay away for the show that is supposed to happen later this morning.

I hope you can aim a continuous video camera on the fence so we can all see how the bear(s) react.

We have a trail camera set up. I'll switch it to video and get a bigger memory card. :D

I'd like to see its reaction too! :hair:

Add some spikes around the windows? My sister in law puts the excess males in their own area as a decoy. Not much use for them on a farm. She keeps one rooster and she tracks the mating to ensure the roosters have good traits. Some are just chitheads.

No roots allowed in my area. Just hens.

We literally put wood screws and nails in the boards around the windows. Hoping he/she would step on them. We removed them now that the fence is working.

We have one cat that luvs to sleep in a window bay. Seeing mr/mrs bear had no fear of the window and can tear right through them? We were afraid mr/mrs bear might snatch her, So we put down spike strips to help ease us on her sleeping habits. We kept moving her out of fear, but she really wants to sleep there even at night. So at least we have some sort of protection for her.

Fired up the P43 before we went to bed last night. House wasn't really chilly (69*) but knew it was supposed to get cold and it was 28* outside when I got up at 5:30. Comfy 72* in the house.

Was nice to run the stove today. Much more satisfying than regular forced air.
