It's hard to win when you don't play... Sometimes I play when it gets "big". Haven't played this one, just forgot to go by and get a ticket. I know I'm just giving my money to someone else..... I cannot imagine how life would change. Well I can imagine, but I think thoughts are probably way off. I think it obviously depends on a person's personality, but I think there would be more potential issues and problems than most people think about.....lawsuits, heck even potential kidnapping/ransom type issues. And I wouldn't want to have to just "dissappear ". But, given the right mindset, the good that could be done would be unbelievable!
No, I was going to wait until Friday and post a reminder. $1.9bn (minus tax) is a good amount of money. Powerball Jackpot Rises to $1.9 Billion After No Winning Ticket Sold
Yes. The biggest prize is the Euromillions draw. The odds of winning are a bit better than your Powerball draw, so it doesn't roll over as much. And the maximum pot is capped at 240 million euros. Once the cap is reached it can only roll over five more times before the pot is shared out among the winners in the next tier down. A bonus is that we don't pay tax on the winnings. There is also a UK lottery but the prizes are much smaller.
All those millions of tickets sold, and nobody won...its no wonder the jackpot is growing by leaps and bounds now...lots of people paying their voluntary tax (which is for those that are bad at math (or statistics) and nobody cashing in!
16 of us from work threw in $10 for Saturday, that is 80 plays, didn't win a dime. We are going to do it again for tonight, why not!
Eh, I'm helping to support the schools when the pot becomes big enough. I may have spent a total of $50 on lottery this year and it's nice to dream. I don't really spend money on any other types of entertainment (besides books), and buying $4 worth of tickets is cheaper entertainment than a host of other things that people spend money for without blinking an eye.
And $2.04bn goes to Los Angeles: Powerball winner: $2.04B jackpot ticket sold in Altadena, California
I wasn’t the winner. But then, I’ve never bought a lottery ticket in my 64 years. I think I’m money ahead by not playing.
Kind of like me and alcohol. I don't drink so I've saved a ton of money and didn't 'pizz' any of it away either....lol I'm a clean liver but still an extremely dirty old man.
It's nice that the ticket seller gets a one million dollar bonus. Powerball: Store owner who sold record US Powerball ticket gets $1m bonus
