Both. But, I am not able to sharpen chains correctly. This one has lasted all summer and looks like about 1/2 of this dirty oak pile. Add to that that I have sharpened it a number of times over that time period and its about as far as I can take it myself.
Yeah, but you don't come lay your head on her lap whenever she sits down like they do though either, do you...hmmm?
Making a run to the chain saw shop this morning. After putting the new chain on the saw, it is still cutting to the right and loosening up right away I'm thinking the bar needs to be dressed or replaced as it is a couple decades old.... It was a busy day yesterday but not on the wood pile. Only did a bit. We went out to eat fish fry and also got a couple of visitors for awhile. I (we) found a couple dead and down ready to burn trees (5-6 inch) that were cut and hauled right into the basement also.
Now now Dave, no talk of politics here! All kidding aside, sounds like a bar issue. Groove may be worn inside causing chain wobble.
That stinks. Can you file the rails flat to straighten them up? A day off isn't such a bad thing either way. We've had some very mild days here lately. Tues-Wed the guessers are saying 70!
Made some more headway on the pile today. Looking back, I had 4 days that should've been cutting days but for various reasons, those days were just wasted as far as cutting logs goes. I also had two unplanned trips on separate days to the chainsaw shop so there is some more delays. Tomorrow is still mild and dry. After that, wet and low temps show up. Don't like to cut off the log pile when it is raining. Maybe with some good luck, I'll be able to finish the pile before the snowballs fly but I've got other things to take care of also.
