The area I hunted this morning is off a seasonal road. Driving in there was a limb that had fallen and was partially blocking the road. I could have driven around it but thought I'd stop and move it totally off the road. Turns out it was sugar maple, long dead but still very solid. Welp, I moved it off the road into the bed of my truck and continued on to my hunt. I can't help myself.
Thats funny as you were the first i thought of when i saw the pic in his truck. Great grab Buck! Done like a true hoarder.
Good, I'm not alone. My lady tells me when she pulls a Ben., it's a random roadside wood grab mostly.
Oddly, no coffee. I’m having a decaf tea. I stopped drinking coffee a few weeks ago. Turns out, I’m naturally this energetic and annoying without caffeine.
I have a cup of green and mint tea decaf before my coffee in the morning. Hate to say it but caffeine is my drug of choice. Used to drink a full pot but cut back a bit to 3/4. Cooler weather has me jonesing for an afternoon cup.
Meh, sounds about right to me...I've pulled over to save a single "lost puppy" (split) laying in the road before...wouldn't want someone to hit that and blow a tire, would we?! An my policy is that if I have to handle it, I'm burning it (except brush...and that's getting burnt too...just outside)
No deer? I've been known to hoard a log or two while I'm hunting...last year opening day brought back a deer in the tractor on top of a bunch of ash rounds. Nothing wrong with making less trips lol.
I've been tempted to cut a white oak tree down (that needs it) out in the woods and then have a hunter friend sit on it. I've never had the deer come while I was cutting like some people do, but they've certainly come later and feasted on all the branch tips.
