When I was out and about I am always on the lookout for firewood. Lately I have been somewhat selective as I already have a three year supply. This white oak was too hard not to pass up. This is just something to keep me out of the gym and I can work it up at my leisure. IMG_0928.JPG IMG_0929.JPG

    Nice take!
Now ya just gotta keep enough rounds on hand to last you the winter. 20-30 minutes a day is a lot of wood though!
The boy and I keep some here just to be able to go out in 30 degrees with no shirts and split for a bit.

Sirchopsalot I try to split for a least 60 min a day, however leaf drop season is here and need to be raking leaves for the compost bin.

Mostly, the crew that was trimming the power lines did not cut those rounds all the same. If the rounds were close to 16" to 19" they were left alone, those that were longer got cut to 16". Luckily I only needed to noodle 1 round. I was surprised on the amount of wood that was in that tree.

    Thats awesome!
I just had a similar gift....added to the score I was working. Tree guys came around, we talked, and they ended up leaving 1/4 cord of wood within easy reach for me.
