I am at the point of a coin-toss myself.

I am on my last gallon of mix using Mobil 1 Racing 2T that I have had great luck with. No longer available here like it was.
I have to decide between Royal Purple and Red Armor , both on the shelf for the next gallon so time to make a decision.

I've used Amsoil Sabre for many years now with great luck. Never had an issue as of yet. I mix it at 40:1.

Mixing with 91 octane non-ethanol gas.

They say you can mix at 100:1 and it's the same as regular oil at 50:1. Ever try it? Not sure that I could do that lol !

Those screens are good for keeping debris from going into the muffler and exhaust gas moving outward.

I haven't and won't with anything I care about. With any oil. I run heavy mix.

I have ran a gallon of 75:1 Amsoil Dominator mix through a Homelite 46cc saw I ported for an experiment. Noodling and bucking 28- 30" seasoned Beach and oak. Zero damage. Still oily film on the piston and a clean exhaust port. Neighbor was running it here. 18" 325 full chisel Husqvarna chain.

You won't have oil related issues with it either.

I have ran it, but I didn't do a tear down after running it either. I still use it for the work 2 stroke, I've moved on to amsoil for personal use.
It's easy to source for sure, so I'd fall back on it if needing to.

I use Red Armor at 40:1 and like it, it doesn't smell bad and fuel mix with it is red in color, so, easy to tell what it is when you pour some.

I have, I'm not sure I'd bring myself to do it for a high-performance saw, but I've seen plenty of equipment do fine on it. I like Sabre at 50:1, I ran Dominator for a good while in all of my modified stuff @ 40:1.

I know Lucas is top shelf. I just wanted to know what your findings were on it. After reading back, I can see that you havent tested that one yet. If you do, please post your results. I have been using it for 6+years with great results. I use it in my saws, and boat.

Hey Buddy! Let me tell you about Lucas. I "Was" running the Lucas Semi-Synthetic for years and years. Because of where I live and (at the time) only 2 auto parts stores around and my stihl dealer was 25 miles away, Lucas was readily available at my local NAPA store.
So with this said, I had just stuck with it. I have been following the oil testing threads, here on the forum that Eggshooterist had started and there is another one that is an invite but long story short and MUCH research into the oil thing, Lucas is "not" and I did quote, not a very good oil compared to many others out there. I was thinking along your lines, Good name brand, Big company, but not necessarily correct in the 2 cycle world. I do run a Lucas ATV oil because my wet clutch in my Foreman requires a oil rated for a wet clutch. I'm gonna dig into that also at a latter date. I switched to Amsoil. I just went to the top of the food chain. Many others are up there as well. If you PM Eggshooterist, I'm sure he can give you a quick fill in, but the man is very busy. I trust what he's doing and have learned a great deal from his tests! You know I'm an optimistic person and like learning, check his stuff out, LOTS of reading but well worth it! Open the link below and watch, it'll make you think. Thats just one of many... Hope this helps. *Edit*. Eggshooterist did a test on the Lucas, I followed it very, very closely. If I were to give it a ranking in all the oils he tested, If there were 20 oils tested, Lucas was in the high, Bottom 3. He can give you the correct number, but I don't think I'm too far off!

I switched!:yes: Seen enough and I have too much wrapped up in my saws. Not as much as some, But I don't wanna have to go buy a saw if it wasn't necessary and I could have prevented it. I got a local fella a few blocks away is an Independent Amsoil dealer.
I've never seen it for sale anywhere around here on the shelf. Just as well, I don't mind helping this guy out with business! :)

Ill dig into that later today. That is VERY hard for me to believe, but I've always been open minded and I am definitely going to give this a fair shake! Ill also add, that I think Amsoil is grossly overrated in the 2 stroke world, and I ran that too lol.

To be clear though, I didnt buy into Lucas from their name or anything else. I was paying more for JASO B oil, with Lucas having a JASO D cert I gave it a shot. Also, you dont need to buy expensive oil for your quad... Rotella is wet clutch safe, thats what I have used for quite a while.

***Were you using the Lucas air cooled or the TC-3 rated? They make a few.

I am going to bow out of this one buddy. I can't find anything on this "independent test" and am reminded why I dont get on forums much. I have been up for 3 hours, and havent accomplished a thing because I have been sitting on here lol. I must say, I see you were using it up until a month ago without issue, so whatever was posted in that test must have been some bad stuff lol.

I brought home some washed gravel yesterday Im going to move around with the skid loader, I will check back in later. Good seeing some old names here (since I dont post much these days!).
