    To go out and cut firewood, they are pretty equal stock. The 550 is the best of the best when it comes to handling, weight, ergonomics, etc., but performance wise they are pretty close. Cutting cookies with a stop watch, the 550 might have a slight edge, but a friend of mine found it the other way around when he was testing the two saws.

    Nah, I do too and I can still heave around the big ones. 50cc saws are just more practical for the wood we have around here, and in good hands can lay out a LOT of firewood in a real short amount of time. Honestly, I could get by with my ol 550 99.9% of the time if I needed to. It is happy as can be with 3/8 chain, bar buried.

    I kept my family warm for 12 years with a 029........... then I bought a 441........it went down hill from there, damm CAD:hair::rofl: :lol:

    I just can't get hooked on them. I need to port the 550 and see what I think of it. I may would rather have a 5100 with some port work.
