Maybe I should raise the dock tomorrow.....

    Event: Special Weather Statement
    Alert:
...Significant Winter Storm Brings Heavy Wet Snow to Upper
Michigan late Sunday into early Tuesday...

A low pressure develops over Lake Huron Sunday night and stays
nearly stationary through Tuesday morning. Strong northerly winds
behind the cold front bring colder temperatures that changes
precipitation to accumulating wet snow across the higher
elevations of west and north-central Upper Michigan Sunday night.
Locally heavy snow continues across the higher elevations of
Baraga and Marquette Counties on Monday and Monday night before
    slowly dwindling down Tuesday.
Snowfall amounts totaling 6 to 12 inches are expected across the
higher elevations of west and north-central Upper Michigan Sunday
night through Monday night. Higher amounts exceeding 12 inches are
possible across the Michigamme Highlands of eastern Baraga and
western Marquette Counties; a few isolated spots may see up to 18
inches. Heavy wet snow combined with frequent northerly gusts up
to 45 mph may lead to power outages and tree damage. Sloppy
accumulations up to 4 inches at lower elevations combined with
more lingering fall foliage could lead to sporadic power outages
    and tree damage as well.
Persons planning travel through Upper Michigan late Sunday into
Tuesday morning should monitor the latest updated forecasts and
statements from the Marquette National Weather Service and local
media on this potentially significant early-season winter weather
    event.

Sounds menacing. Is that an early version of one of those “November Witch” storms?

It's 42.4 out tonight with the temp up here at 72 and the basement temp at 77 headed up. I did put in more splits of pine in the Lopi for more heat overnight, I'll shut the fan off on the stove pretty soon.

Off and on rain with wind all day so far. None of the "S" word that doomsday forecasters are predicting.

    37 and falling slowly.

57 heading to the mid 40s. Making another dent in my dwindling silver maple supply. I used black cherry splitter trash for kindling and I can definitely smell it outside on my back deck. Looks like we’ve got some lows in the mid 30s coming this week

Getting our first freeze advisory tonight. For the foreseeable future it looks like below freezing at night. Had the kids load up the wood bunk down by the wood stove today. Closed up the chicken coop windows. Places straw on the coop floor and in the rabbit hutch. Dug out all the heaters for animal waters and got them going.

Probably going to have our first fire this week. Highs in the lower 50s is going to chill the house off.

We have a freeze warning. Neighbor with the logging troubles intended to. Start his boiler tonight, but he has a hole in one of his steel plates that hangs on the boiler door
He hopes to patch it and get going. We have some sub freezing overnight this week, but it is bouncing back, so i plan to wait another week or two.

    this weekend was beautiful.
