Or all the above including the new homeless dude walking down the road the wrong direction. Whoever is easy to blame that has nothing to do with the fact that January 19, 2021 we were energy independent and a major exporter of oil not a Saudi suck up!

Split some more firewood today that I bucked up a few days ago. Then took a break and paid the bills. Then watched most of game 2 of the Yankee game against the Gaurdians. But had to go to my daughter’s soccer game before it got over. Daughter’s team won. Yea! Yankees lost. Dam. Series tied 1-1.

Hopefully get to cut and split some more firewood tomorrow and visit my Mom. You hoarders have a good night.

Firewood is already split seasoned and stacked in my wood shed. It cost me a whole lot less than the equivalent of $5.80/ gallon.

Me too. Enough wood to take the sting out of any I need for hot water and supplemental heat.

Full day today. Travelled to Greensburg to Indiana Sons of the American Revolution State meeting and received their public service medal. Prior to the meeting, they had a ceremony at a nearby cemetery and placed a market at the grave of a Revolutionary War veteran.

A great group of men ensuring our veterans are never forgotten.

For our members from other countries, to be a member of this group, one must prove lineage to a Revolutionary War veteran. A grandfather, or maybe even an uncle. My Civil War group has similar rules. I presume there are similar organizations in other countries.

    Pulled the minnow trap today.

The last two days caught a total of 6. Now I realized that they "slow down" at this time of year but I think someone may be helping me empty my trap!

Got another partridge at least. (ruffed grouse)

I used to set out some traps, people always messed with them. I kinda gave up. Last year shiners were 8-10$ a dozen and smelt were up to 12 for pinners. Might have to set the traps back out more strategically.

Nothing significant happened this week. We have been under a red flag fire warning all week. High winds, low humidity, no rain.

Now we are under our first freeze warning. Kids and I loaded the wood bunk with fire wood, buttoned up all the animal coops/ shelters, got the heated waters out, added straw were needed. I mowed several 10 ft wide paths around the property for fire breaks now that the red flag extreme fire hazard has down graded.

...now we're going to have beef roast with carrots and potatoes with dinner rolls.

I will not set traps roadside. Makes it way too easy for someone else.

Brushed out the flue and got about two cups of creosote out of it. I used those bags that the rods go through and it catches 99% of the flakes and dust. Might have to start burning this week. Dropping off into the 30s overnight.

I got a nice call today from the company we ordered a new front door from. It came in earlier than they expected and they are able to get it installed on Wednesday. The old door has not sealed the best so this should help with heating costs. After it is installed, all I have to do is pay for it:makeitrain":makeitrain":makeitrain"
