Excellent! think I would have to find the manager and express my support of them displaying that sign!
company passed all their new gun laws this past summer (most of which will be shot down), businesses have to post a sign allowing concealed carry or you can't carry there. If you do, it's a class E felony. It used to be, businesses would post a sign not allowing conceal carry. In my over 20 years of carrying, I might've seen two or three places that did that. One was a Goodyear Tires store, it's cost them $1250 in Duratrac's! NYH1.
So if it isn't permitted, how do they know? No way they have airport type scanners that can "see". Heck, I could have a big pocket knife but I'm not consenting to a search to find out.
Constitutional Carry laws work wonders. 2A friendly states are way safer than confiscate and destroy states. Only the ultra woke places in Maine have signs saying you can’t carry, they lost a lot of business or they never had that business.
They won't know, unless you end up needing to use it. It's a mess right now. A lot of the new laws will be changed because of the NYSRPA v. Bruen decision. Just gonna take some time. NYH1.
My wife and I were at the Texas Roadhouse in Augusta ME in Sept. 2019. They had a sign that said "no open carry". Which was no big deal to me, I always conceal carry, unless I'm in the woods. NYH1.
In this state they don't have to put a sign up like that. Only a sign to not allow you to carry that meets the law spec. I guess that's to inform the uninformed so that if they see a gun to not think the person is robbing the place or to make a dumb criminal have second thoughts?
I was shopping for tires for my plow truck. Stopped in there and they had a sign not allowing firearms on their property. So, I went to a tire dealer that didn't have that sign and bought my tires! NYH1.
Send the business that lost your business a copy of you receipt with an explanation of why they lost your business.
I mentioned it to the store manager as we were leaving. The funny part was this is the sign they had posted on the door. I didn't even see it, my son did, he was 15ish at the time. When we left the store, I asked where he saw the sign, he showed me. I said that doesn't apply to me, he said why not, I said, I'm not carrying a Beretta! NYH1.
