    Saw this advertised on market place. If he has as much as he says and it’s a good product, a guy could make a decent amount of money off this. It’s about 30-35 minutes from me.

    How do you feel about delivering 600 cord this fall? Actually, just see if he’ll sell you the same amount every fall! Process half as much and make the same amount! Seems like a pretty good proposition for someone who had a client base that large

    That comes to $150 per cord. In my neck of the woods $150 for a cord of oak is a real good deal. But who has $45,000 laying around to put into a firewood business? (And selling 300 cords would truly be a business.) And how do you know that is 300 cords? It’s just in a pile. Is there more? That one picture doesn’t look like 300 cords to me. I am skeptical.

    I love that thing! It does everything I ask it to so far. Been working on pouring my driveway over the last couple weeks. Neighbor came over and scraped the drive off and had dump truck loaded heavier than anything else I’ve had in it, but it dumped with no problem. I could definitely feel it when driving though! Still got the Sonoma. Just used it last Friday for some small firewood deliveries. Clutch is getting more and more tired. Thinking of throwing a new one in it:rofl: :lol:

    I've seen some killer deals online, but the cost of moving/hauling it makes it not worth it, often even with completely free wood!

    Nah, I'm busy enough. BUT if I had a guy close by that had a truly good product for that price AND I didn't have my own stock to deliver, I would turn and burn on all of it and more than double my money.

    Too far of a drive for me and I wouldn't think about it until I sell all of mine which should be early December.

    If the wood is good and there is 300 cords, I can turn that $45k into over $100k and could do so in a few months which would be well worth it. 30-35 minutes away though is too far for me. I would need it close by as that's my current market.

    I'll bet he doesn't get half of his asking price. Even if someone had $45k laying around to put into firewood and a ready market for 300 cords at $300/cord, the gas and heavy equipment required would eat up a fair chunk of the margin. Best case is that a buyer spends months trying to move and sell all this wood while taking a $45k risk in order to net maybe $25k when it's all said and done? I don't think that's a compelling business plan.

    Who knows what the middle/bottom of the pile looks like. He might get more interest if he allowed someone else to market and deliver it from its current location. Do like a 60/40 or 50/50 split. We all know that every time you touch the wood it becomes more expensive. “Drop shipping” it from its current location would yield a guaranteed higher quality product for the retail customer as well as less risk for the person doing the marketing and delivery. Everyone has their individual desires though.
