7th and 8th load yesterday and even more wood out there for the pickin. Also met one of my neighbors I haven’t met yet and an older gentleman who is a retired pipefitter that offered to show me how to weld. It’s been like networking at a golf course except the people are cool and I don’t suck at cutting wood lol
I like your truck racks. Your stacks look to be as tall as I have ever seen. And stacked up against those pines... you don't find that they fall over? I have stacked between trees here and they fall due to tree sway. But when trees get big enough, they are pretty stable. But yours are super high! Great score.
Thank ya. Racks were from some scrap wood I had and stiffened them with some aluminum angle I had lying around. Stacks are 7 1/2’ at the highest point. I had one fall over of course and had to restack. Next time around I put a level on the logs the splits rest on. Seems to hold. Also experimented with some 550 cord tied off using a truckers hitch around the circumference of the higher stacks. That seems to work also but not sure if it was necessary.
I had those same wheels on my 03 Tundra for a while, till they corroded. I have 3 spare center caps if you need, just pay shipping.
Thanks for the offer man! She’s a beater if you look up close so I’m not too worried about how she looks. Been one heckuva reliable truck considering the use and abuse I’ve put it through, especially the years of firewooding. Was a well used gas and oil fleet truck in a previous life.
