And here I was going to say that it wouldn't take much to clean that mess up and make it look great.

Today I had some time to get after some White Ash firewood for the tail end of this winter and spring. (Depending on this winters temperatures.) The last two winters I’ve had more left over than usual.

Rally had some nice weather for the weekend. Sat evening, built a fire at the pit and fished until after dark for a gain of 2 walleye and of all things, one perch. The perch was shortly after sunset and before dark but I can't remember ever catching one at night like that.

I got ahold of a nice little drop leaf table that I applied a coat of stain to after sanding the surface. It is just the right size for the fish shack.

A couple of sunsets over last weekend and weekend before.

Here is a spot where minnows volunteer for fishing duty!

Ok, so wondering which one is better. Hmm. I love the "usually ends up in a dump" but then there's the "elm is horrid" right up front. Decisions decisions. :D

Decided to cut an ash that was dead with the exception of one 8"-10" limb about 25' up. I had my suspicions that the trunk was hollow.... This is a section from about 6' off the ground. It is around 6' long.

Glad the drop went as well as it did. Yeah, the limb got hung up but everything is on the ground now and bucked up.

This guy was uninvited and just laying motionless in the yard. Glad the dog didn't find it.

I gave it a few light nudges and the body had no signs of rigor mortis. Then, I saw an attempt for a shallow breathing going on! :jaw:

Carefully slid a shovel underneath it and then into the back of the mini truck for a free ride to the woods. I used the dump box for unloading it!

I wasn't going to inspect it or try rolling it over to look for wounds/injuries as I didn't really care-just wanted it gone without any "memories" left behind!!!

Could be rabid. We started having rabid skunks a few years ago. Wiped out most of the raccoons too.

    Fine by me!
That display isn't mine. I found the pic on FB. liked the humor so I shared it. That being said, those big pants and shirt are like the ones i wear. I try to wear long shirts to avoid the plumber's crack.

Yeah, maybe that. Could have the paralysis version of rabies, no?

That leads to another question. How long do you have to cook a rabies infested skunk in order to get rid of the chance of infection?

(asking for a friend) And who wants to come over for dinner?

Distressed/aged tin is popular out here, both siding and WWW actually sold a metal roof that was colored to appear to be rusted tin. Would that be called retro?

Can't see the eyes in any picture but If it had puss or discharge coming from the nose and eyes it could have been distemper. The last bit of distemper before death is seizures and neurologic symptoms.

Either way getting it gone is a good move.
