sarcoptic or demodectic? Looks like Ivermectin can be used for the first. I had all my dogs (shepherds, labs, samoyeds) on that stuff year round for hookworns that were in our soil - no need for heartworm medicine and very cheap.

But for the second, it looks like a lot of the newer chews made for flea control also carry the medicine for demodectic mange. I've heard some stories about serresto, but who knows how much of it is true and how much is stealth commenters from competitors. Some of the newer chews also have the medication according to my Google Doctorate

Finally made it back to my stash of locust. Best I can figure, this stuff was split between the time I ordered the IS and purchased the C-L 25-ton splitter so 2015-16 range. Got the split stuff stacked in totes (2 full 12-16", 1 18-20" plus 1 chunky monkeys). Started 2 more totes but ran out of split stuff.

Going to shift attention to other wood that is a higher priority but still need to cut to length and split the rest, maybe a cord or a little more.

Feels good outside this morning. Right at 40* and a light breeze. Makes me want to go sit in a tree and wait on a deer to wander by.

Thanks bogieb Vet says it’s parasitic Mange.

Getting pills down this Shepherd throat is a PITA.
Basically pry open her jaw, drop pills on back of tongue then hold her nose up while rubbing her throat for minutes and she can still spit them. Vet has given my liquid and I gave dog shot because it’s easier and you know how much she got:loco:

I think WWW figured out why this horse is here at night, she's been hanging out under a light he hung up last week. He hung up a solar stair step light on our gable (the kinds people line their patio steps with), it's on all night and not too bright. He said there are several nights of horse poop under it. Guess she goes back to her herd during the day (they broke into two or 3 now). Too bad they ruined WWW's archery target deer. She's like 30 years old so the foam is dry/brittle, they ate off her ears and keep knocking her head off :picard:

2 ideas that might help, 1, slip a syringe or eye dropper in her cheek while holding head up and massaging neck, just a few drops of water draining down often stimulates them to swallow. 2, squeeze fingers between her molars to open it, it takes less strength than the front they will feel their lips between. Idk, some dogs are stubborn, good luck:)

That collar killed one of my labs. he got seizures and organ failure from it. Another lab had one, but without issues. must be something else you can try.

I knew it was someone on here that had a bad experience with it. Sorry it was you Larry.

I talked to Vet with these concerns; apparently the other options are back ordered or no longer produced. As Lady is Geriatric and nearing her end of life. Anything to keep her comfortable. Currently on gabapentin and tramadol

Getting reports from some of the smaller communities now. Everyone thought the hurricane we had in this way the other week was bad, mother nature headed west and said hold my beer. I'm sure it's one of those situations you just can't imagine until you go through it yourself. Very sad.

hurricanes can be really nasty. in my younger years, i was in the far east during a tyhone, (their version of a hurricane) i was in a building that had the roof sucked right off it. Sheet metal was flying and slicing around. While the roof was gone, the ceiling was not. That got water soaked and the rain just poured in. The surge from the ocean came in near our building. normally, the ocean was no where to be seen from where we were. We were so glad when it was over.
