I can't get the 55 to run right

a dremel tool works probably the best for removing the tabs.

 

yes it is holding steady not wandering or anything.
I will cut the dang wings off tomorrow.
The new grommet fit on the end of the pipe and in the hole real nice and tight better than the old

 

yeah I have a ton of bits for the dremel

 

I can't stand those limiters they only give around a 1/2 turn

 

Yeah, I never had a problem with adjusting my other saws with no limiters I should have cut them off before I put the carb on

 

I didn't realize you had a 55 until you said something now I see it in your signature

 

I got it off another member here.I have only used about a tank thru it.I have never had to work on this saw.I have it for a backup for my 346xp that I can't keep my hands off

 

Just an update thanks for the help everyone.
I think the impulse tube on the partition and the grommet are what was the main problem.
Anyway @Jon1270, I finally got back to it, took the limiters off the carburetor got it turned right and she's running fantastic now.

 

That little chicken chit piece of rubber has spelled the end of more 51/55 saws than I could even count! Using self-tapping screws to hold the carb on runs a close second IMHO! I usually extole the HVA designs but this was out of character for HVA and IMHO diminished the overall HVA reputation.
