Yeah, we hit the local TOP SHELF meat market recently and our freezer is STOCKED. Cost a pretty penny but I don't think we'll have to drop a penny on meat until March, stoked

Hot and muggy again today. Getting some relief by means of a thunder boomer. Some needed rain for sure!

Heat index is a calculated figure that's similar to the wind chill. It is a calculation meant to take into account the affect of humidity on the "feel" of the temperature. Similar to how a 20 mph wind makes it feel much colder outside. Yesterday afternoon it was about 90 degrees here, with humidity levels in the 80's. Pretty much unbearable outside.

Weather report last PM noted that Portland Maine never reached 90f this year? Only the 6th time since temps have been recorded. What this means to me, my power bill didn't jump up.

Portland could be in fog (the normal state of most of its inhabitants) and mid 60's all summer and you could be in the mid to upper 80's them coastal places have natural temperature moderation.

Yes, but remember that fog you said most of the inhabitants are in means a lot of pompous bloviating bureaucrats, (hot air).

Most of the bloviating bureaucrats are in the Disgusta area and thus you have the higher temperatures, in Portland they are just in a fog.

Weekend looks decent, Some thunder boomers in the forecast. We won't let it stop us from our adventures. Might have a soggy picnic Sunday afternoon. But they will have beer, So who cares.

Fishin trips planned for Saturday and Monday. Might be a bit wet Monday morning, So I might have a chance to sleep off the hang over.

Finally put together the Harman Accentra with the red ESP after filling the hole bigger to accommodate the fatter one. Now it turns off when in the OFF position so it looks good for now. Will fire it up soon when the weather dictates it. Placing my Selkirk DTM vent shortly, awaiting for final pricing. Checked out a few pellet sellers and the pricing is about $0.20 more a bag. Might be higher next month....

Not usually a good idea to wait after making repairs/mods.....any gremlins need to be fixed BEFORE you actually need the stove, so my recommendation is to fire it up now and let it burn for an hour or so, even if it's just out on the driveway.

We have a fire going tonight and it isn't any test fire. Family room was too cool. But now after an hour it is real warm

I can't say I ever had a fire in August xept the ones we have outdoors!

We did come pretty close though!! I bet we have one before the end of September. Not sure I'll make the "No fire till October 1st" rule this season!
