I bought a couple of bags of Western Wood Pellets at Big R the other day. They were 5.50 a bag. I also bought a few bags of Big R brand pellets for 5.00 a bag. I'm pretty sure they are the same thing, based on the packaging. I bought them both out of curiosity.
Anyone ever used either of these?

My son helped me move them from my truck to the pellet stove staging area with his Power Wheels Gator. My back actually appreciated the help.

You are correct, they are made by the same company. You were nice enough to give a nice picture of the UPC codes, and this is what I get when I looked up the Big R store UPC

Love that pic of your son helping!

Pine blend and low ask looks good. I see that the pellets are made in New Mexico. I wonder if many people in New Mexico
burn wood pellets and other cord wood?

Right on! Thanks for doing the research, bogieb! I didn’t know you could figure that out from a bar code:handshake:

I use the GEPIR database. Scroll about 1/2 way down the page, click on GTIN tab, put in the number (all of them) and voila. Every once in a while they may not have something, but it has rarely let me down.

Thanks Bogie ! Grabbed a ton today and was worried sick as they were bagged in new TSC bags . They didn’t quite have that Maines wood pellet smell which may be because of the fiber difference. They checked out to be MWP from the SKU . $40 more a ton but believe I will be loading up on these ! Thanks again ! yes Luney is back

Welcome back Luneyburg ! I saw the new bags at my local TSC 5-6 weeks ago. Asked the counterperson what kind they were and they told me the same as usual (MWPs). Of course I had to confirm for myself. Not that I needed pellets, I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be kicking myself later for passing up a screaming deal on some super premium pellets.
