We cleaned the screen and radiator as soon as we finished mowing.
I don't think I would have tried to sell that as hay, it was 95 % golden rod weeds, briar and small sweet gum trees. Maybe mulch...

I know a person in PA that cuts, rakes and bales any kind of hay (as weeds and all) and sell the bales to a mushroom grower for mushroom bedding. They buy all he runs and he runs a lot, to the tune of 2000 rounds a year. I'm getting ready to run hay again and I'll post up some pictures so everyone can see my Kubota's working....

They don't work all that hard as I have enough oomph under the hoods.

Problem is, the equipment is so expensive today, as well as fuel.

Least the fuel cost has come down a tad but fertilizer has not at all. f anything input costs are still climbing.

I have been ripping out invasive plants at my parents place with the grapple. I’ve liked the grapple prior to this job, but I must say it is a flat out awesome tool for this job. It doesn’t hurt to have it on a big tractor- the Multiflora Rose is zero contest; I grab a chunk and rip it out of the ground, reset and grab another mouthful. The Honeysuckle is also zero contest - rips right out. I’ve also ripped out some 4” Ash trees. The oldest, largest Buckthorn poses the most fight, but I grab it low and then drive forward while rotating and lifting- only issues have been when on side slopes.

This one I needed two chains and 4wd. Odd shaped with most of the roots growing to one side. (Was next to another large Pine on other side.) It was making the rear end light even with the hoe back there. Rear tire was spinning and I was going nowhere without 4wd. 949857D7-5696-46FD-AE63-AAC22654BB82.jpeg

Gas it looks like all you work is showing up in these pictures.
    Beautiful pasture
That all was pretty heavily wooded right?

Thank you. Yes. Some of the area you see in theses pictures was heavily wooded. I removed a bunch of trees. Then went through with a 9.5 Ton Kubota Mini with thumb and pulled out all the stumps. A lot of work but now we have a clear view of the pond from the house. And the horses like most of the grass. Unfortunately we get some type of switch grass(?) that grows in there that they don’t like. So I need to figure out how to get rid of that and get it so the good seed of equine grass I plant can take over.

Looks like prime territory for Nut Sedge (“sedges have edges”). I don’t know switch grasses, so no help there. Probably best chance at ID now, especially if there are seed heads. You still have a decent Extension Service over there - take a picture of a whole plant (roots and all) and give them a try.

Tractor is still at my parents’ place. Decided to do some dirt work, so had to bring the bucket over. My neighbor’s L3130 set the bucket into the truck, to my pleasant surprise. Not as much worry about taking it back out of the truck.

After 15 or so years of the fines washing away, it was time to put a new "top" on it. 20220912_081734.jpg
Naturally it's all under the power lines. Little dumps and I'd distribute them with the skidsteer and then run the magic wand over it. 20220911_092811.jpg
Went through about 16 loads. 20220910_131434.jpg
I traded all of this for an old 1997 4 wheeler to my neighbor. He's got a screen and made it himself and delivered it through the woods. The trucks not roadworthy.

We've had 3" of rain on it, so far it's looking good. All of this got rolled by the loaded truck. We started at the house and he backed over what was already placed on our way to the state road. The steepest part is the last 100' before the road and that's where I'm getting a little wash (the least dump truck packing). I need a couple of loads for some wedging and edging, but that can wait until next year. Should be a dream to plow - providing it's frozen.
