I almost think the bar oil thing is a manufacturer decision because my Echo 2511 saws over oil. Irritatingly so. 50:1 must not be an EPA mandate either as I've recently purchased an MTD 2 stroke product and it has 40:1 listed in the manual and molded into the tank above the cap.
My 041 FB manual from the early to mid 70’s says 40:1, and many Stihl saws from year 2000 forward (and likely some before) use 50:1. I could be wrong, but seems like my 041FB has an oiler adjustment on it. Pretty sure it does.
Tis a shame about Dolmar. I remember when the 7900 was the talk of the town in 08' or so over on AS. Led me to getting one in 09', even though I already had (and still have) my 460 mag. The electric thing by Makita is just to appease the woke crowd. Wish they'd of never bought Dolmar. I used to love my Makita products... (air compressor, circular saw, impact, cordless drill, recip saw, jigsaw, etc) but I haven't been overly impressed with my last few purchases.
It’s been good Steve… I can see it continuing to be good as long as I don’t smoosh it like the one Joe ported for me. That little Matermind stickers still hanging on for dear life
