The current prices of heating fuels is likely to create a whole new group of wood burners. Therefore, in the name of public safety and general knowledge/education, I have decided to do a series on wood burning on YT. The kind of simple truths we all know quite well, can't be said enough to new wood burners. It could save a life.

Interesting. I looked into Rumble a little bit before. Is it a freedom of speech thing, or money? Or both?
No sensor freedom of speech and expression platform. Just as many 'idiots' on there as YT and like YT, I gloss over them. I'm very selective in what content I watch and subscribe to on YT and Rumble. On YT, once a creator starts that 'merch' crap, I cancel them. Rumble has no 'merch'. Glad of that. I do believe Rumble compensates creators but I don't know how much or how as I don't create, just read the stuff.
Last Fall my landlord was splitting fresh cut red oak to burn in a couple months. He was sending smoke signals toward our house. The splits were huge too.
Yes I think that someone should explain that process to the engineers. Very Good Savage that one really cracked me up.
I'm not engineer, but I'll just be burning my dry wood this winter, thank you very much. Edit... apparently, my grammar isn't very good either.
I haven't peed on the firewood. But I did wet down a hot railcar wheel once. It was hot long enough when it got to me, that the metal had blued. The cloud of steam that came off of that wheel was pretty rough stuff...
Well, i been going to the University of YouTube for some time now, and the professors over there say to dry your wood. Thoroughly. I'll go with that.
Oh, and here's a thought. Speaking of engineering... Remember that fancy bridge collapse two or three years ago at FIU ?... that bridge was on the college campus... where they taught bridge engineering. FIU (Florida International University) has an engineering program called (ABC) Accelerated Bridge Construction. They're now paying $100million+ for that little whoopsie. Maybe they can change the name to (ABC) Accelerated Bridge Collapse.
I was younger (much), it was an experiment. Nope, no place to go out in the yard, no buildings, porta's, nuttin'.....just the expanse for acres in every direction, and of course one's creative sense.
My older brother's father in law is possibly the second stupidest man in the world.... (gotta save 1st place for a politician)....he would say "welp, it's a hot sunny day, I gotta go home and water my firewood", that was 30 years ago... so maybe the "wet wood's better than dry" science has been around longer than we realize.....
I have the same "problem" if no ones home. With the weather getting colder i dont sweat it out anymore....and i drink lots of coffee!
Reminds me of a job I was on years ago... Very busy highway, large housing tract (lots of picture windows), sawing lumber in the middle of a field.....nearest cover was a row of less than waist high arborvitae.....it was a good hundred foot walk across no man's land to get to said cover...very difficult to act like nothing was up...... once cover was reached, it was necessary to get down on one's knees to closely "examine the greenery"....then repeat the process to get back to the mill, all as if we expected the spectators to believe we were just checking the growth rate of the trees for future lumber production.....
Wow, not fun. There are times when serving a customer, when waiting too long is not an option. Usually it involves finding a spot up or down a bank, and out of sight...easier now with leaves out....made difficult by compulsory high-vis gear worn. wiser guys bring paper products for "blowing one's nose".
