That's quite the operation there! Any worries about a split hitting/breaking those 2x4's tying the sides together?
There was. Not so much anymore. I just take care the conveyor isn’t right over the top of them. And these, because they are flat I make sure to stuff a split underneath when the wood reaches that level. Think my biggest concern now is what happens to everything as the wood shrinks and settles. My bet is that’s where the real fun begins lol
Left it as is. I may stuff a bale of hay under it when they mow the lot. Plan on getting more bales at that time. All that wood is fairly dry. It’s not in need of as much air.
Coming along. I’m liking the long horizontal pallets. Less collar ties needed. PIA cutting the top pallet down to size and stapling it back together but not that bad. WanTed to keep the height at six feet for many reasons. The red oak logs from 2018 are soaked. Outer layer punked up but the meat is still good. Should be good stuff when it dries out.
