I love those mornings as my house is able to cool down enough I don't have to use any conditioning later in the day (this time of year anyway). Today may be a windows open all day deal with the high projected in the high 60's and sunny. Of course I thought it was supposed to get down in the high 40's this morning, but it is 57 right now, so maybe the whole forecast got wanked by a butterfly over in Europe ;)

Been a long hot summer.....Working on my snow cat....Trying to reach a good stopping point before the winter rains hit.

Decided last fall to change course and replace the single cab I had on the beast (1992 S10 PICKUP) With a S10 Blazer....Family model......

Turned out that the body on the Blazer was too heavy to pick up with the Skid Steer safely...

Ended up cutting the Blazer in half and just going MODULAR to lighten the load....
Keeping the single cab in place and adding the modified rear half of the Blazer for more passenger room and a bit of cargo space.....

Currently closing in the giant hole left after sawing the rig in half..

A somewhat of a Chronology in pictures....Fast forward from getting the S Wagon to where we are now

Been sleeping in a rented motorized recliner since Aug 8. They are now too expensive to buy a decent one just for a short period of use.

Tried to get back in bed last night-nope, back to the recliner. Shoulder felt pretty good prior and thought I could give it a try but after 20-30 minutes of trying to get a non painful position and ended up with constant ache all night. :(

Maybe in another week or so.

Getting better and increasing range at a really good rate but still painful.

On another note, I have access to heating oil pre buy at 4.39/gallon. Think I am going to pull the trigger as pellets are likely a no go this year due to the rotator cuff repair. Crazy pricing but 4.39 is about the best I have seen around here. I have confirmed that at end of the season, I can get a credit for the unused gallons at the rate I paid. No auto delivery required. I prefer will call over auto.

That is a good deal (crazy as it would have sounded 2 years ago). And, glad to hear you are planning on doing that instead of rushing your shoulder and possible setting your progress back.

I've heard several people say that they couldn't recline in bed for quite some time after the surgery, and tried it too soon - with the same results. Slow and steady wins the prize in this case.

The low yesterday did get to 52*. Had to close the windows at 10 am because it was 67* in the house and outside temp wasn't even 60* yet (and didn't reach until noon or so). I never did open the windows again as the top temp inside hit 70*, even with all curtains and shades out of the way for all solar gain. If it hadn't been so darn windy I would have been all set with the house warming to about 74-75* even with a top outside temp of 68*.

Instead, with it being 42* already this morning, the mini split is going to keep it 66* in here. This time of year is a careful balancing act between amount of sun I let in versus what is lost at night and I lost that first round.

I'd be careful with the prebuy this year. We "might"(saying that loosely) see a price drop? But who know's!!

I took pellets off last year. Oil is just to easy when your banged up and bruised! I did nearly cry everytime the delivery truck pulled in the yard.

Left the windows open all night like we have been. Didn't close them until noon, Lost too much and never recovered. Had to fire the oil smucker for an hour to get the chill off. We had plenty of sun, But it was so windy it really didn't get up to what was predicted. Opened only the windows with full sun after 3 ish once the wind settled down.

Closed all the windows before bed and the house held 68ºF so no heat needed this morning. :)

I used COD Oil.com the last few winters I was in the big house in NY. I just looked at what it is there right now....$4.21/gal. Have you people checked that out?
