    I've used a level assembling my last few racks. I got it within a half bubble. Good enough for me.

    The ground slopes all through my woodyard. I try to start racks off level to minimize stackfall.

    No transit or plum-bob used, however.

    I never leveled anything to do with stacks until this year. I leveled a large pallet before loading. Almost dead nuts. Will hold 3 rows. I've had one row stacked for a couple months and it is very stable.
