About a month ago,, I noticed a branch of red oak decided to give itself to me. Today was gift receiving day. The 435 was the tool of choice. Apparently, a 2nd branch was a narrow crotch that the larger branch tried to consume. Not quite consumed All bucked and moved to the woodyard. I even got the dead branch. Heartwood solid I'll get another picture when the light is more even. There's a bit of rot, but lots of meat left on the bone. Guessing, a weekend's worth of heat.
Nice little addition to your inventory. Looks like it just missed squashing those American chestnut sprouts too
Ha. You noticed! No surprise. It fell on the small chestnuts, EWP, small sassafras, and some black birch. No real harm done.
