My plan was to remove my ceiling tiles and replace with sheet rock too. But, living in the house and not being able to get reliable paid help around here, I finally gave up on that.

Sheet rock while living in house is a pain in the posterior!. I rock a wall while wife went to Canada for a week; less than 150 square feet of bedroom wall.

new plan for next time; take beautiful wife on 2 week vacation, get shipping container re do whole house
Go with wife…. PAY the $$$

Good help is hard to find. I won't be screwing with gyprock on the ceiling. Going with a vinyl product instead, much lighter and no plastering overhead.

And more resilient to dings and nicks when I accidentally strike the ceiling with a 2x4

Doing some repair to my concrete block shop building...and a little addition while we are at it...dug for the footer yesterday because the mason said he'd pour it today...no show today...finally called after lunch, said he can't get concrete for 2 weeks! Worst part is there is rain coming and I have the facia and gutters torn off the back of the building where the addition is to go!
Dunno what's going on with the concrete though, the local place supposedly can't get enough portland to keep up with demand (there are some big jobs going on locally) but my mason said he called around to probably 10 concrete suppliers and nobody could bring any this week...or it was further than they were willing to go, at least for a partial load...even with cash incentives offered!
He said he was told that if you don't have an existing commercial account with these places you can't even order concrete at all right now!
Burnt up a PTO day and pretty much only got the yard mowed and changed oil in the van...otherwise, just a whole lotta phone time and :hair::hair::hair:
Thinking I'm just gonna go get a couple pallets of Quickcrete and rent a mixer for Saturday...:picard:

My family took my ladders away from me. They put them where they knew I couldn't get to them. I still have a three step stool, but I don't even go on that now.

    Final numbers from ABC
    7196 Anchor bolts placed
    73,500 yds of concrete
    2286 tons of rebar
    156 tons of embeds
    390934 sqft form work
    9000 bags of grout

These are numbers from a Micromill we designed about 7 years ago in Oklahoma. We are designing a similar mill right now in the Mojave Desert and I bet getting material won't be an issue.

That sucks Dave. If I was close enough, I'd offer help.

Had an older lady come into the shop for a blow-and-go. She was clearly inebriated and slurring words, failed the test. Then she proceeded to get upset that no one from our company told her she shouldn't drink before coming in for install. :headbang: Had corp check and she was over twice the legal limit at .163 o_O:faint: She swore she only had a little to drink. :hair:

An hour later, 3 agents and me giving up on the phone and switching to a chat box I FINALLY got them to cancel. Man I need stronger coffee.

I did this on the chat and got them to reduce the bill substantially. I figured I’d keep it another year.

I don't need it or use it much anymore so I have no interest in keeping it. I was prepared for an annoying call but this was far beyond annoying....

Phase 1 of the fence is somewhat complete. Still some wiping down to be done. I have to clean out some old fence row growth with the tractor/chainsaw to go farther.

Actually looking pretty good. Kinda surprised knowing the installer!

This is firewood related. My woodpile is way back there in the background.
