Small advance /miracle today. A little bit ago I pulled the little saw through, keep things moving slow because it sat so long, and it tried to pop off! o_O So, I choked it, pulled it through again and she popped off again. Ok, now I'm really "itchy" so I set half choke, squeezed the trigger and she fired off! :D It will only run about half throttle and above but I didn't bring it fast. It ran!!! :jaw::tears:o_O It will not idle and will only stay running above half throttle. I did not expect this after as long as it's been sitting. I put some Sea-foam in the tank along with fresh gas and I'm wondering if this helped unstick things, or maybe I just got very lucky! I usually don't have this luck!

Thats great news Dave. Small victory!

I "found" my circa 1992 (original owner bought new) 026 powerhead in my cousins garage covered in dust & schmutz. Took in home and added some gas. I burped a few times. Tried it ten minutes later and it fired. Didnt run well but stayed running. M2theB worked his miracle on it and its a running saw now. It was replaced in 2010 with my since sold MS290, so it hadnt been touched in over ten years. To me that speaks volumes of Stihl quality.

I've been digging for parts and beings the saw is most likely 50 years old, various parts are hard to find. I'm happy that it did run, and I may just keep it clean, drain the gas, make sure the cylinder has some oil in it and just (Look at it). :) It's all intact and not beat to $#!T, original 16" bar with 1/4" chain. I'll give it a good home. If I need a small saw, I have the 170.
