Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a MARVELOUS MONDAY. Happy Labor Day. We're going to bring the tractor home from the logging site, as we will be on vacation this week. Then getting ready for family and friends this afternoon, smoking wings and burgers.

Good morning everyone! Labor day, seems like a good time to hop back on. I hope you are all well, I haven't read the back pages yet. I have some catching up to do.
I'm fine. I've been working on splitting old black locust chunks that I had stored away into stove-sized lengths. My 180 is in the shop, just wouldn't start one day. Also been haunting the dump and bringing home small loads.
Missed you all! Glad to be back, time to make this a (good) habit again.

Morning errbody! Might go for an extended cripple cart ride today before buckling down to get things ready to head north to Kevins GTG in a couple days.

Morning All. Overcast with the sun peeking through. Made our trip down island and picked up the chair lift. So sad as she lost her husband in June to a long illness. So many of these lifts were only used for a short time and the person using them died. We had rain off and on all day except when we were disassembling the chair lift. Bonus.
Today we take it over to Mom's and install it. I hope the rain holds off until we are done.
We had to turn the heat up this morning as it was 50 F outside last night.

We just rolled from the long weekend. My wife and I got a lot done from building our sauna, to wood stacking, to gardening, and a little relaxing on the shore of Lake Superior.

Initial hearth prep, and cedar paneling.
Garlic preparation for storage, and planting.
After dinner on the shore and sunset, we were treated to an awesome display of northern lights.
Sugar maple we stacked and covered for a few years down the line.

 

So happy to see you back, Molly. You were definitely missed. Miz Carol asked about you
