2 stroke oil

I had run that till several folks said even at like 32-40:1 they had dry skirts and exhaust. And we're getting minor scuffing. One guy I know said this was milling but still...I sometimes run my chains duller than I should which is also hard on a saw, when I'm trying to finish a truck load or what I'm doing. He is a member here I can't think of his name. Also on OPE as well. One of the really active guys on the saw forums. But anyway that scared me away from it. I had run two quarts of Amsoil before that, and would of run more just couldn't find any local and shipping was expensive. Right now I am running Red Armor. I have heard nothing but good about it for many , many years. I think I paid about $55 or so on Amazon for the gallon I bought.

 

I wouldn't trust a random website like that at all. I'm sure I could find one that puts (insert brand X here) first. If it works for you, keep using it.

 

The only thing Lucas I ever will use is the power steering stop leak. The rest just seems like good marketing to me.
Only reason I used that was because I could get it in a quart bottle, it was thick and I needed to buy time till I could replace my gear/pump.
AMsoil, red armor or husqvarna xp+ here. - oil is cheap compared to replacing or fixing engine issues.

 

I use to use a lot of the Husky XP oil cause I got it cheap at box stores. The saw builders /porters said that's the number one oil that cokes and carbons up saws. That's what they say and they will have taken apart more saws than I will ever see in my life. And since those guys don't really sell or have any stake with oil companies I don't see a reason for them to stretch the truth or anything.

 

Honestly I think more has to do with how a saw is run than the oil used. Everyone has one that they like and as many people will say it is trash.
I remember when choices were limited and nobody was blowing up engines.

 

I just run whatever my shop sells in 6packs for 2.5 gallons of gas. Never steered me wrong yet

 

Wow, I just checked Amazon.ca, I'm in Canada, Red Armor is $163.96 for a gallon. what a difference.

I use tall timber. I think it is a local brand. Been using it for about 16 years. No carbon, no problems, 50:1 with 91 no ethanol. Lots of long hard cuts

 

My husqvarna dealer stated that the saw don't perform at peak in their computers unless you run husqvarna oil in them....

Sometimes the price will go way up cause it's a third party that wants to hit the gold mine on a single sale. I know I looked at some point since I ordered it and saw it at like $60+. But year $150+ is way too much.
