It 'twas a good day after all yesterday. Got done with my night shift for the week......went to a friend's house, helped him with a small PVC pipe repair and cut grass, called dealer and cylinder had come in. Got home and the replaceable part for the Andersen hitch had come in too...:ups:...
This is how bad the other one was bent 0830222040.jpg
    New one is purdy... 0830221940.jpg

    Got it swapped out... 0830222041.jpg
This is the anti-sway part of the hitch, old on the left, new on right. 0830222052.jpg

Another blessing I forgot to mention, I was going to order the cylinder from Messicks, checked with our local dealer, they were about $5 cheaper, state warehouse had one in stock and when we picked it up, the guy took the $38 shipping fee off too. Great to shop local when you can...

Sure:thumbs:, but it should have been driven until the tire shredded and beat the prell out of the fender. The wheel worn down to the spokes would have been a nice touch.

Yup, run it! It's only flat on one side!
And speaking of worn down to the spokes...our local NAPA store has a rotor that a customer brought in hanging on the wall...no "disc" left...just the fins in the middle between the inner and out halves of the disc. :bug:

Reminds me of a story at my buddies wedding that the father told about the bride when she first got her license.

She got a flat on one tire and drove it home on the rim. She got home and he asked her why the heck she kept driving it when it was flat. Her response was, "but dad, the other three tires were just fine..."

This one was not driven home on the rim. The rim split which started the slow leak of a fully inflated tire…. After a couple hours in the driveway, this was the result…

That wheel had a stuck caliper a while back. I’m guessing that the heat weakened the alloy. The split happened on the way home from WeldrDave ‘s property. Warm day. Lots of downhill. I’m guessing that warmed up the rim enough to get it to finally let go. Just a theory. The split caused the wheel to go out of balance alerting me to the problem about a mile and a half from home. Was able to limp it home at 5 mph.

My son's truck wheel cracked like that, pretty spooky.
