That’s what I figure. Maybe a touch over.

 

Fir makes a neat sounding pop on the first split of the round.

 

Yep. It really cracks when you first open it up! Sounds like a home run hit off a wooden bat.

Thanks, man! We have a couple of steep slopes on our property. Good for sledding! But most of our property is really flat. We are really lucky. That’s hard to find up here.

 

Splitting and stacking will be happening this month.. high was 60 today so that’s motivating!! Great job!!

I’d guess early to mid September. I like to wait a while and enjoy the cool temps in the house during the fall.

Thanks! We typically burn 3-5 cords a season, depending on how cold of a winter we have. I’ve probably got about 10 cords css’d right now.

 

That's not bad considering how long and how cold the burning season can be. We are all going to save money with wood burning this year.

 

I totally agree on the savings. I usually burn in the mornings and at night. I let the fire go out during the day most of the time. The house holds heat really well, and we get a lot of sunshine during the day here - even in the winter. If I burn all day during the winter, it typically gets too hot in the house in the afternoons.

 

60° weather, splitting and stacking wood with an awesome looking piece of property. That's a win win.
