I do not have a 60cc + saw. I'm running an echo cs 490 with a 16 inch bar. My splitter does not have the ability to go vertical either, horizontal only so I may be out of luck with the big chunk. I could probably noodle it if I had an 18 inch bar and some patience.

I picked up the pile last night. I ran over the scale at the local elevator before and after. It ended up being 4750 lbs of wood, primarily ash with a little walnut mixed in. So it'll probably end up being about a cord worth by the time it's css. I definitely have my work cut out for me the next few weeks cause I have the pile of honey locust to process too before labor day. Thanks for all the input guys. It's great to find a group of like minded people who are full of knowledge.

Phenominal group of folks here. Ive learned a lot in the 3.5 years ive been a member and still learning. Made some great friends too. :handshake:

If you harvest/cut larger diameter wood a bigger saw would be a wise investment. Few years back all i ran was one saw with a 16" bar. Bought a 20" for it and it couldnt handle larger logs that well. It would cut them, but slow. Got my first big saw (77cc) and game changer.
Just be mind full of CAD (chainsaw acquisition disorder) as its very addictive! :saw: :makeitrain"
    Right Chud ?
