If people are dumb enough to pay the $37, that is how they can get away with it.

For that price, it better pour itself into the saw and cut the tree down

Id be pizzed if it cut for me. It can definitely do the rest lol.

My advice if you use the canned fuel as I do, buy a 5 gallon can of Sunoco optima 95 octane small engine fuel or VP racing 94 and mix your own oil. Locally, before inflation nation began the Sunoco was $67 a 5 gallon can. I'm lucky enough that my nephew opened a small engine repair business and I get the VP for his cost for $62 out the door. That 5 gallons lasts me 1.5 - 2 years.

TSC near me is $14 for store brand and $16 for winter weight. I am in need, so will be pulling the trigger on two gallons soon. Lately, I'm feeling the most pain at the butcher shop. Beef prices are going sky high and the Sunday get-to-gethers are going to suffer!

Grafton in the old Shopko building. They are close to ready to open. And next to it will be a harbor freight. Coming from where you are, that FDL mills fleet farm is probably the best option.

I'm not a fan of the new mill's stores. The old one in WB was easy to find stuff. Now it's a long walk to see that they don't have the ammo I want. The Germantown mills fleet farm is still the old style like the old WB store.

Price will come down eventually, just like gas at the pump. Definitely not time to panic.

I guess "panic buy" was the wrong term
Was totally out of bar oil and had a lot of wood cutting to get done
So figured all the other stores were going stupid with pricing, get ot when i can
The last two months cut about 30 cords, 9 more to go

Bomgarrs in north platte had cam-2 bar oil regularly price at $10.99 with $2 off sale. Never tried that brand so I grabbed one. Menards across town had their b-c oil at $8.99
Both stores had plenty on the shelves

Repeat after me, it will only go up until the economy crashes, then it will hit rock bottom…. Don’t panic buy, just smart shop and get what you need, all you need to do is look at the EIA website and you will see how long $100 crude stays there. P.S. it’s most always less than 1-2 years… The rich only get rich for so long on inflation before they have to come back down to earth and take meager profits on the down slope. You have none other than the glass-steaglle act to thank for this.

***disclaimer, this isn’t political in nature of one side or the other, it’s political because it was a bill signed into law that made it legal for traders to manipulate the commodities markets without actually having to take delivery of said product***

I.E. I shouldn’t be able to speculate on $1mm worth August Wheat if I am not the physical purchaser (General Mills, etc) I should only be allowed to bid or speculate if I receive and use said goods.

I just got a price from a guy that sells grass fed beef. Its 60% ground beef and 40% steaks. He said its $7/lb and he sells whole, half, and quarters.

Not sure if that's a good price or not. He said the ground beef is really good, because he has a lot of the stuff that is normally turned into steaks ground up instead. He said its a little tougher than store bought steaks, and that's why he does it that way. Wife isn't too keen on spending $1,700 for a quarter. No other family members or friends are interested.

$7 a pound live weight or processed weight?

Last couple years I’ve been getting a 1/2 a beef from stepson in law. I paid him $2 a pound hanging weight, and I can’t remember exactly how much to the locker, something like $2.50 a pound for processing.
I live in cattle ranch county, but ain’t no rancher, so although I’ve heard the phrase “grass fed beef” I’m not exactly sure what that means. All cattle eat grass. Probably means about the same as “100% organic, naturally sourced, biodegradable firewood”!
Actually I think it means that the critter was fattened at home and not a feedlot.

$7 a pound seems a bit high but is way cheaper than $12-18 a pound for a T-bone at the grocery store

Of all the different brands I've tried, that has been my least favorite. Push comes to shove with price, I'd run it. That's definitely a great price. We don't have either of those stores near me.

We used to sell at $5.50 per pound, fully processed weight (frozen package). If it were $7/lb live, it would be over $18 fully processed; some of those grassfed guys are great marketers - my hat is off to them if they can get anything close to that!

Do a search on how synthetic oil is made and be enlightened. Almost all of it is from crude.

Generally, grass fed beef means that they received no grain while growing. The flavor of the beef can be greatly influenced by the type of grass/forage they eat.

In my experience grass fed beef is usually a bit tougher & has less marbling. Yes it’s leaner but you get your flavor from the fat.

I watched a cooking show where they were singing the praises of grass fed beef steaks. When they prepared the steaks to cook they slathered them with olive oil ( fat ); cooked side one, flipped them & slathered the 2nd side with olive oil ( more fat ) again then when they took them off the grill put 1/8 tbs of compound butter on each one ( more fat ) :hair::wacky:

Seems to me one would be better off to feed the beast corn & let it add the fat to its own meat.
