So I am in the process of making my shed roof off the shop more secure. I added 1x4s 3 inches apart along all side except the front (almost done ran out and need to get a few more to finish). I also added a cattle gate to the front to lock it all in. I want to make that gate a bit more secure adding something to the front of it. The purpose of this stuff on the front is 3 fold; a) to make it more private so every person driving by cannot see directly into the shed. b) to make it less easy to hand things through the lower rungs. and c) to make it harder to climb into the shed. I do not want it to be too heavy and I do not want it to look tacky. So far the 2 ideas I have come up with is attaching 1x4s to the front or maybe doing a cool driftwood design like this. It would be cool to get some aluminum plate cut into a design for the front, but that would cost a small fortune. ANYONE have any ideas on how to make a gate look nice while making it more secure? Here is the gate. PLEASE help me to come up with ideas.
How about adding some cattle panel welded or bolted on? Don't know if that gives you the visual security that you're looking for though.
Attach lattice panels to the frame. Small gaps so nothing can be handed through and enough material to block a good look inside. Driftwood gate looks nice but everything has to be secure or pieces will keep falling off.
I want something a bit more classy than lattice, too easy and i don't love the look of it. THinking something along the lines of this. Corrugated metal and wood. Just like this top rung of gate wood the rest corrugated.
Cover it in cookies Drive by's will think it's a wood pile. Maybe architectural cladding? How about vintage stuff like old farm tools, signs ect ? Just flinging spaghetti on the wall.
