You might have noticed that there are two top ends in the picture. One is for Steven's saw........the other is going to Australia for use in post ripping competitions.
The fellow I'm doing this one for has three 395XPs a 390XP and a couple of 3120XPs that we've built........he likes the torque Tennessee saws make.
I gotta show off my latest Ebay find. Got this $180.00 Starrett indicator for $15.00 The first thing we do is the machine work....... Indicating the jug for the squish band mod. Making the cut here. On the 3120 .050" is removed. Cutting the cylinder extension.
While I'm doing the machine work, Jon is hacking.......err I mean working on the muffler. This plate matches the hole in the muffler after it is gutted. Then Jon makes a blank plate to braze the new deflector too. The muffler is canted downward on the 3120, so this is the layout for the new deflector.......that way it sits level and the exhaust exits without hitting anything on the way out. He's working on the deflector now.
Welcome aboard Mr Mastermind... It is very nice to see you here and to start your first build on this forum. I have always enjoyed reading your builds on the other forum. You have always supplied great pictures and detailed explaination of each step. This build should be no different. Steven must be drooling right now. Carry on........ lol........ Jack
