Looks like maybe Canadian border VT had a couple family member that got cold so being the good husband and father he is, he started a fire. Just enough to take the chill off.

I did my duty yesterday and voted. Then cut a couple pine trees while it was cool.

A couple large storms north of us. One got close but shied away. Forecast possible heavy rain later today.

    Nada.

A few spits around the region. We're deep into the drought. Trees are dropping leaves, drying out the forest floor. Wild fires are about.

The remnants of a minor tropical system would be nice.

We see plenty of leaf drop in spots and even here we are seeing yellow leaves.

I'm in work. Wife messaged to say that she has lent my petrol hedgecutter to her brother. Now sitting here wondering what condition it will come back in. Could have been worse, could have been a chainsaw.

It has been like that in our area for about two weeks, we had a very dry April and a wet May.

This end of the state it is just beginning to happen. Mid-August will tell the tale if we are really getting an early leaf drop. We’ve got a heat advisory today, but still no warning about dry conditions. Very strange.
